Intro to Health Careers Program
Fisher-Titus prioritizes Our People, Our Patients, Community, Affordability, and Access. Fisher-Titus is dedicated to community growth, while developing our local talent, helping students find their passion and realize their potential.
Program Overview
In the Intro to Health Careers Program, junior and senior high school students will work, shadow, and learn for up to 16 hours a week. We recognize that each student has individual needs with school, extra-curricular activities, home lives, and this program. Therefore, Fisher-Titus will work with each individual student on times they can work with the various hospital departments, aiming at an average of 8-16 hours a week per student.
The first two weeks of the program will consist of orientation and training of the soft skills most needed in the various roles. During the next two months of the program, students will be rotating in the areas of interest and will work in each area for at least one shift. Students will then reflect on their time in each role to determine their likes and dislikes and have the option to choose one area to focus in for the rest of the program. Students may also choose to continue rotating in areas that most interest them.
