Prevention and Screening

When it comes to a cancer diagnosis, early detection is key. Some early signs of cancer can include lumps, sores that fail to heal, abnormal bleeding, persistent indigestion, and chronic hoarseness. However, completing regular recommended screenings increases the chance of detecting certain forms of cancer early. Fisher-Titus offers multiple cancer screenings including:

  • Breast
  • Colon
  • Lung
  • Skin
  • Cervical
  • Prostate

Commission on Cancer

The Commission on Cancer (CoC) is an accredited program through the American College of Surgeons. It seeks to raise the standard of cancer care by supplying its accredited healthcare facilities with tools to aid in improving facility outcomes, educational opportunities and more. Just one in four hospitals receives accreditation, and must demonstrate a continued commitment to providing cancer patients with multidisciplinary, comprehensive care. Fisher-Titus Medical Center’s cancer program has held CoC accreditation since 1989.
