Farid Said, MD, Fisher-Titus’ nominee for the Ohio Hospital Association’s (OHA) Albert E. Dyckes Health Care Worker of the Year award, recently attended the OHA’s 109th annual conference in Columbus, where he was recognized along with other nominees from Ohio hospitals and health systems.

The Albert E. Dyckes Health Care Worker of the Year Award is presented by OHA each year to one Ohio caregiver who personifies a leader, gives back to the community, reflects the missions and values of his or her organization, and routinely goes beyond the call of duty.

Dr. Farid Said’s significant lifetime contributions to Huron County residents made him a perfect candidate for nomination. For 48 years, he selflessly worked as a family medicine practitioner and general surgeon at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

During his tenure, not only did he care for the wellbeing of his patients; he also healed the sick and saved the lives of countless individuals. Patients describe Dr. Said as a truly devoted physician; stating he does not practice medicine, he humanizes medicine. His co-workers express that Dr. Said models his work around his purpose – people – serving his patients, colleagues, and community.

Dr. Said has also dedicated himself to the Fisher-Titus Foundation for more than 20 years and is deemed as one of the most influential members. Dr. Said helped lead a significant capital campaign to build a new patient pavilion to expand and modernize the main entrance and waiting area and revitalize the facility’s facade.

Since he retired from practicing medicine in 2021, he has continued his work with the Foundation and has even increased his time cultivating relationships and philanthropic gifts, benefiting patient care services at Fisher-Titus.

Fisher-Titus is proud to have nominated Dr. Said and was honored to celebrate his achievements alongside his family at the OHA’s 109th annual conference from June 10-12.
